Westtown School

Chester County, Pennsylvania

Working on a team with civil and environmental engineers, Hunter Research provided the private Westtown School with cultural resources services involving repairs to an earthen dam that creates a recreational pond on the school’s historic campus. Due to environmental permitting overseen by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the client was required to comply with the Pennsylvania History Code and Section 106. Hunter Research successfully completed surveys and effects assessments that satisfied the agencies and the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, allowing the project to advance to construction.
