Nicole Skalenko joined Hunter Research as an Architectural Historian/Historian in May 2025. Her current duties consist of historical research, technical writing and report preparation, and utilizing her experience in historic research for architectural surveys.
Nicole is a graduate of Rutgers University’s American History Program (M.A., 2023) and Kean University’s Honors History Program (B.A., 2020). Nicole joined the team with a strong knowledge of early American history of New Jersey, New York, and Philadelphia, and has years of experience in various research roles. She currently serves as Historical Researcher for the Battles of Connecticut Farms and Springfield: Researching Mapping, and Arch Project and works alongside several historians, archaeologists, and geologists. Prior to joining Hunter Research, Nicole served as a Processing Assistant for the New Jersey State Archives, led digitization efforts of the Liberty Hall Collection at Kean University’s Special Collections Research Library and Archive, and contributed to the American Philosophical Society’s digital humanities initiative Revolutionary City: A Portal to the Nation’s Founding.
