Nicole Bowers joined Hunter Research in August 2024 as an Archaeologist and Office Manager. Nicole has experience in both laboratory and fieldwork operations that includes Phase I–Phase III archaeological surveying and excavation, historical research, collection management, processing, and cataloging. Her recent archaeological cataloging projects include the 322 Commerce Center Warehouse Phase IB Archaeological Survey in Woolwich, New Jersey, the Moravian Church Gravestone Restoration in Woodbury, New Jersey and the Cedar Hill Stage III Archaeological Mitigation in Wyckoff Township, New Jersey.

Nicole is a graduate of Rutgers University, New Brunswick (B.A., Art History, 2018), with a Certification in Cultural Heritage and Preservation Studies, and Monmouth University (M.A., Anthropology, 2023) with a Certification in Archaeology. Her thesis was an exploration into the leisure class and status symbology of artifacts of amusement and entertainment from the Lord Stirling Manor Estate in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. In 2016, she interned as a Registrar and Collections intern at the New Jersey State Museum, Department of Archaeology and Ethnography. While attending Monmouth University, Nicole conducted fieldwork in Sandy Hook, New Jersey as part of a collaboration with the National Park Service, and participated in the 2020 Jockey Hollow Field School. Prior to joining Hunter Research, she was a Senior Visitor Assistant at the Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, New Jersey, where her role was to foster a culture of inclusion as a museum attendant.
