Historic Morven

Princeton, Mercer County, New Jersey

Historic Morven Museum and Garden, a National Historic Landmark located in Princeton, New Jersey, was the home of Richard Stockton, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, and the official Governor’s residence of New Jersey from 1945 to 1981. Over the course of more than two decades, Hunter Research has worked with Morven on a variety of building and grounds restoration projects, requiring exacting documentation and survey, as well as close coordination with architects and engineers. A culminating project was the construction of a new visitor’s center, completed in 2018. These improvements have been closely overseen by the New Jersey Historic Preservation Office under the New Jersey Register of Historic Places Act, and much of the work has been funded by private and public donors, including the New Jersey Historic Trust.
